Troy Henderson, President

Troy has very limited oilfield experience, but her business savvy has led Windward from inception to present day. Troy is now semi-retired and spends most of her time volunteering at local charities such as the SPCA, where she was twice nominated for “Citizen of the Year” due to her extensive support. Troy still checks in to the office often and is involved in all major business decisions.

Rory Henderson, Operations Manager

Rory obtained a B Sc (Honors) from the University of Wyoming in 1978, working on drilling rigs during the summer break.  After spending several years in the field supervising construction, drilling, and completion operations he began to manage projects of increasing size and complexity.  Rory was involved in the operational management of several junior “start-ups”  such as Poco Petroleums, CNRL, Encal Energy, Remington Resources, Monterey Exploration and Carmel Bay Exploration as well as larger drilling and completion projects.  He continues to enjoy providing direction and assist in the coordination of larger projects.

John Nurkowski, Geological and Regulator Advisor

John is a professional geologist with over 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry, much of it focused in Northeast British Columbia.  The last 6 years have been with the BC Oil and Gas Commission as Supervisor of Drilling and Production.  Prior to this John worked at a number of companies, including large, intermediate and juniors.  Specialization includes evaluating acquisitions and divestitures (including due diligence), exploration and development, drilling and completions, and regulatory matters.

Darren Henderson, Project Manager

Darren began his career on a service rig, doing workover and abandonment work in the oilfields surrounding Fort St. John. After 2 years, much to the dismay of his Supervisors, he left the rigs to attend SAIT’s 2 year Petroleum Engineering Technology program. Once finished with school he returned to the field as a Wellsite Supervisor on Drilling, Workover, Completion and Abandonment operations. Over the 13 years in the field, Darren turned down multiple offers for office positions with clients in Calgary while waiting out an opening in Windward’s office. Darren manages large, multi-operational projects most recently spearheading an 84 well abandonment project in H2 2019/H1 2020.

Kimberley Henderson, HSE Manager

Kimberley brings with her over 15 years of Safety Program development, HSE management and program implementation. Kimberley heads the Windward joint health and safety committee and advises clients as well as contractors on the short-comings in their safety program. “I am passionate about Safety” – Kim.
